In the event that you do provide us with person information about yourself (either by email or through the feedback form) the information provided will be used solely for the purpose of responding to your query and will not be passed to a third party of any kind.
Security
If you are a member of UKEMS, you have the option of logging into the members section for additional website features. The members section is stored on our secure server and the data sent to and from your computer and the server is encrypted. This means that it is exceedingly difficult for a third party to intercept the information en route.
Cookies
A cookie is a small text file stored permanently or temporarily on your computer. Cookies are transmitted to and from a web server and allow a web site to remember things about your computer, for example whether the user has previously visited the site. It is impossible to received computer viruses directly through cookies.
The public domain of the UKEMS website does not use cookies in any way.
If you are a member of UKEMS and you log into the members section a temporary cookie is stored of your computer for the duration of your session (until you log-out or until your session expires). This cookie is used solely for security reasons and no information is stored on our server after you have logged out.
In addition, in order to make it easier and faster for you to log-in to the members section, we offer the facility to remember your username and password. This facility uses a permanent cookie that is stored on your computer and automatically fills in the values of the log-in form on the website. For this reason, it is recommended that you do not use this feature on a public computer.
